Development Updates - 30th June

Bug fixes

  • Improved preview image quality, anti-aliasing and improved texture filtering will now be applied. The resolution will stay the same for now however.
  • Fixed a situation where design state can be lost during a workflow experience.
  • Fixed some edge cases where required filtering of text would not occur.
  • The preview controls menu (3 dots icon) now correctly shows in fullscreen mode.
  • Fixed an issue causing the 2D preview to clip off the bottom of the screen with tall layouts.
  • Fixed an issue preventing background transparency from making it through to delivered renditions. Workflows involved may need to be re-saved. We’ll do this for you where we can.
  • Fixed display of hints on steps within the Beeline theme. They will now stretch no further than 300 pixels in width.
  • Fixed a loophole allowing upload of SVG assets containing non standard Adobe Illustrator tags. You’ll get steps to fix the issue instead.
  • Fixed an issue causing the adjustment editor to clip onto the 3D preview.
  • Solved an issue causing the Spiff3D print service to fail to start immediately after initial installation.
  • Design product variant option names now use more generic language to avoid locale specific issues.
  • Fixed a bug causing frame step uploads to always write to the first of any frame steps in the workflow.
  • Fixed a bug causing workflow to scroll unexpectedly when trying to zoom on an image cropper.
  • Made rendition delivery emails more generic so they can be white-labeled more easily for the specific partner in question.
  • Fixed an issue causing frames to override each other on the beeline theme.

Development Updates - 18th June

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue preventing storeowners from downloading design renditions that contain multiple files through emails from Spiff3D.
  • Fixed an issue preventing unpersonalised products from generating design files at time of order. Affected orders will be regenerated for any customers involved.
  • Preview images are now correctly passed through to the line item in the Shopify checkout when design products are used.
  • Fixed a bug preventing the user from entering multiple lines on a text step when configured to be possible.
  • Fixed an issue causing black textures to appear on MacOS Big Sur and earlier WebGL1 platforms.
  • Resolved an issue with the display of temporary password credentials
  • Improved handling of text caret when inserting text at arbitrary locations in text steps.
  • Now preventing page scroll when zooming an uploaded image in an embedded workflow experience.

Known Issues

  • Emojis are currently filtered out on text step input as we don't support them in most design files but we're exploring how we can implement these in the future!
  • Certain devices running Safari have issues running very large workflows. We're investigating this and we'll have some improvements very soon.

IMPROVEMENTS - 17th June

Happy Friday!

We've made several improvements to the text step. We now filter out all characters that are not supplied by the font file we use to render the text. This means you can control what characters can be used in a text step by manipulating the TTF file in a relevant third-party program.

  • When copying a step inside the Spiff3D Hub, any colour option specified on the new step will now be correctly cloned.
  • Added some missing help links on the product page. Look out for either of these icons to take you to our help pages.

NEW FEATURES - 16th June

  • Static background images can now be uploaded on a per-workflow basis. Upload your background image (PNG/JPEG) to Assets, then go to Experience Config (top right within your workflow) and use the upload button.

  • Added a 'Draft Orders' page, in the future this will give store owners the ability to monitor abandoned workflows, view what the customer had created so far and reach out in certain circumstances.

  • Emails sent to customers on the behalf of Spiff3D can now be configured to remove reference to us. See the 'Contact Email' and 'Partner Name' fields on the 'My Account' page (under the Partner). These fields will be used in place of our information if provided.
You may also upload a logo on the integration edit page to replace the Spiff3D logo. Once in Integrations (under the Partner), choose Type > Internal. You will need to upload your logo to Assets first. Then click Exisiting and choose your logo.

New Feature: Options in Config for Colours

You now have the ability to set Shared Options for Colours in Config. Still check the Enable Color Picker, you can now set up Shared Options under the Content > Options.

This is a great way to have one color palette across multiple workflows!

You will need to add you Shared Option under Content > Options first. In here, you can also set your default colour for the Shared Option.

Alternatively, you can set your colours in each workflow. Using the Add Option button and then Add Variant for each colour.

Please contact support@spiff.com.au if you have any questions.

Spiff Launches New Billing Platform

Spiff has taken all the learnings from customers over the past 12 months and is now proud to launch its new and improved billing platform.

Over the last year Spiff has built many new features which in the past we attached to one of our three base plans. This model has meant that some customers had access to features they didn't need.

For this reason, spiff has introduced Addons that can be activated for specific features. This means that as spiff engineers improve and build features, only the price of that feature will be affected.

Also, transaction charges for smaller customers were cumbersome and hard to understand so we have now set our base plans to include transactions for the first $USD3500 ($5000AUD) of customised products ordered in a month.  After this, transactions are charged in a tier model. Our pricing page will be updated shortly to reflect these changes.

As part of our transition, spiff will be cancelling all current subscriptions that run through the billing page and support staff will be reaching out to customers to add their card details into our new stripe.com powered gateway.

Note: Current services will not be affected during this transition.

Contact support@spiff.com.au for more details.

Shopify WebHook Problem - Affects Shopify customers

We have had several reports from customers over the last week of orders that are being placed into their shopify system and not making it into spiff.

Upon investigation we found that this was in fact a problem with the shopify webhooks and seems to be affecting random orders.

Shopify Engineers have committed to having the problem fixed over the next couple of days. We will notify customers once the bug has been fixed.

Important note - You will not loose any orders. All of the order meta-data should be in the line item of your shopify order and if you do not want to wait until shopify has fixed the problem you can re-rerun the order as an internal order within spiff.

Please contact support@spiff.com.au if you need any help retrieving or replaying orders.
